Bayoneting Japanese Effigies: CCP Pushes State-Sanctioned Hatred Against US and Japan
“The school plays in kindergarten are about killing Japanese people. You can go to these theme parks where you can bayonet—like Japanese ‘soldiers,’ straw men, [and American ‘soldiers’].”
Podcasters who used to be the first YouTubers in China recently discussed how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) makes efforts to foment anti-Japanese and anti-American hatred in China to distract its citizens from its own genocidal policies and corruption.
The China Show’s description in Apple Podcasts says, “ADVPodcasts. A video podcast dedicated to bringing you China current events, and breaking them down for you, hosted by 2 guys that lived in China for over a decade. In fact, the hosts, Winston and Matt, were the first YouTubers in China.” Unlike many YouTubers who have essentially traded their honesty for CCP funding and support, Matt and Winston were not impressed by the effects of CCP tyranny and now expose little-discussed aspects of CCP corruption.
This week, Winston and Matt were discussing the celebrations in China over the tragic and sketchy assassination of former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, including special deals offered by Chinese businesses. In doing so, they revealed a number of shocking details about how the CCP actually foments hatred against Japan, America, and other countries in China.
“Winston:1 In fact, [the CCP] is an incredibly immature government, and the way that they deal with the outside world is by villainizing it. . .they encourage this amount of, you know, ridicule-ment [sic] in the populace, okay. They teach the people of China to hate Japan. And look, they have legitimate gripes when it comes to the treatment that they suffered at the hands of the Japanese during WWII. . .the kind of atrocities that they did. . .
But, as we all know, that was in the past. . .Japan has reformed dramatically. . .but in China, they do not want people to forgive or forget.”
Matt agreed, and provided more details on just how the CCP encourages anti-Japanese hatred.
“Matt: They’ll take, for example, schoolchildren, in the city I lived in, they would take them to the anti-Japan war crimes museum—which, these are legitimate horrible things. . .they’ll take five-year-olds to go see corpses and horrible, horrible atrocities, and then teach hatred from a very young age. . .
And the reason they do this, is—it’s a—common, common tactic for authoritarian governments, is that they need a—it’s almost like a scapegoat to fall back on when things go bad domestically. . .The only protests that are allowed in China are protests against Japan or against other countries. And you can’t just go have one. . .you have to register it and then get approval.”
He said some protestors burn down Japanese businesses or flip Japanese cars over, even if the owners are Chinese. What I found fascinating about this is that while the Chinese sanction some violent protests in their own country, as an ideological mechanism, the CCP was also funding the BLM and Antifa riots in America in 2020 that were causing violence and unrest. China isn’t the only one to use this model, either. While it may not be on the scale here it is in authoritarian China, Democrat politicians have tacitly or explicitly endorsed the activities of rioters or doxxers both in 2020 and more recently with Roe v. Wade being overturned.
“They’re always government-sanctioned,” Matt said of the protests, explaining that often the CCP allows these protests to happen as a distraction when there’s a government scandal. Japan isn’t the only country toward which the CCP encourages hatred, either. The hosts mentioned Korea, Canada, and America—and certainly anyone who reads English-language CCP propaganda, for instance Global Times or Xinhua News, knows that the CCP is vilifying the US on an almost hourly basis.
It gets worse, though.
“Matt: Japan’s usually the number one scapegoat. So there’s a lot of deep-seated hatred for that. If you turn on the TV, there’s anti-Japan war dramas all day, on every channel. . .news broadcasts. . .the slang, Chinese language. . .This is very okay to say. . .
Winston: The school plays in kindergarten are about killing Japanese people. You can go to these theme parks where you can bayonet—like Japanese soldiers, straw men. . .an effigy of a Japanese soldier that’s made out of straw in a uniform, and little children, like five-year-olds, are bayonetting these things.
Matt: I’ve been to one where there’s American soldiers.
Winston: Yeah, you get that too. It’s ridiculous. It’s teaching people discrimination and hatred on an industrial scale and everybody gets taught this. There’s no exceptions.”
As shocking as these facts are, in light of the fact that the CCP is responsible for 500 million or more deaths, and is still enforcing genocidal policies in areas like Xinjiang and Tibet, it somehow fits into the whole CCP ethos.
And if you think that such realities are not relevant to Americans, think again. Firstly, the China that is teaching toddlers to bayonet fake Japanese and American soldiers has been aggressively threatening the US for years. Secondly, as Matt noted, the CCP’s propagandizing is not an uncommon tactic for authoritarian governments. Interesting how the current US regime is encouraging racist CRT, destructive riots, and violent rhetoric against SCOTUS justices, Trump, and others, isn’t it?
The hate-filled dystopia of Communist China may be much closer to home than Americans would like to admit.
