(This article was originally written last year.)
Today is the anniversary of the horrific terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
I want to share a prayer written by Fr. Mychal Judge, a Franciscan priest, chaplain of the New York Fire Department, and first confirmed casualty out of 2,977 on 9/11 (killed by falling debris as he gave Last Rites to the dying at the Twin Towers):
“Lord, take me where you want me to go, let me meet who you want me to meet, tell me what you want me to say, and keep me out of your way.”
To remember 9/11 means to live up to the standard of heroism and self-sacrifice of that day. We must never forget.
