God has no mother....Mary was just like every other human being...she had to recognize she was a sinner in need of a Saviour even though she carried Jesus Christ in her womb

‘And Mary said: My soul doth magnify the Lord. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. Because he hath regarded the humility of his handmaid; for behold from henceforth ALL GENERATIONS SHALL CALL ME BLESSED.’ —Luke 1:46-48 Of course Mary was redeemed through Jesus. That does not in any way change the special status Jesus CHOSE to give her. The special devotion to Mary goes back to the very beginning of Church history. To deny Mary’s special status is against both the Bible and Christian history

The Catholic church makes an idol out of Jesus' earthly Mother ....there are shrines to Mary all over the world, even in my town....the Ten Commandments have even been altered by the Catholic church; the 2nd commandment "Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or earth beneath, or that is in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God...." Deut. 8-9 The Catholics removed this commandment and substituted a version of the 3rd Commandment for the 2nd Commandment...to make up 10 Commandments, the Catholic made 2 Commandments 9 and 10 out of the Christian 10th Commandments...recall God said "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.: - Deuteronomy 4:2...The Catholic church has led millions of people astray with their Godless preaching and idolatry...many of your posts, Catherine, talk of "special people", "St. this, St. that" as though God thinks more highly of them than any other saved person....I came out of the Episcopal church which I call "Catholic lite" and can attest to the rampant idolatry....the entire Old Testament is nothing more than God's condemnation of His People Israel for their persistent idolatry...

And yet the Jews held up Moses as special, and they took care to bring Joseph’s body with them out of Egypt, and the tombs of important biblical figures are still existing and honored in Israel today. Jesus himself highlights Moses and the prophets. The difficulty you have is the difficulty of many protestants, in that you cannot seem to understand the difference between honor or reverence and adoration. The Jews did not adore the king when they bowed down to him any more than Catholics adore Mary when they bow to her. Many gestures of honor and respect are now associated in America exclusively with adoration, which is a very new idea. Hence ‘your worship’ is traditionally applied to judges. The Catholic Church has hard, undeniable evidence of its existence back to the time of the apostles, whereas all other branches of Christianity can only trace their origin back to much more recent dates. Justin Martyr, who was killed in the second century, refers repeatedly to Mary in very respectful and complimentary terms in his writings, as just one example. https://www.beholdthetruth.com/key-early-historical-writings-on-mary
