Exclusive: Chinese Communist Party (CCP) state propaganda outlet Global Times continues to threaten Taiwan and its allies in the wake of Chinese military exercises around Taiwan. Taiwan is free and legitimate China, but that is hardly deterring the greatest mass murderer of all time (the CCP) from claiming it has a right to seize Taiwan. And if the genocide in areas like Tibet and Xinjiang are any guide, the CCP is willing to use any violent means at its disposal.
The article also included an image that Global Times said was of a People’s Liberation Army (PLA) missile being fired toward a location near Taiwan. As they say, sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.
“[Global Times, Aug. 13, emphasis added] China’s newly released white paper on the Taiwan question showcased the historical and inevitable trend of reunification, with 1.4 billion Chinese people's determination, sincerity in practicing ‘one country, two systems’ with compatriots in Taiwan island, and China's increasing strength in preventing external interference, analysts said during a symposium held by one of China's highest-level think tanks on Friday. . .It was published on Wednesday, following the tensions triggered by US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's provocative visit to the island of Taiwan on August 2. . .
Huang Shujia, an expert from the Renmin University of China, said that China's national rejuvenation has become an inevitable trend and the mission to realize reunification is more urgent.
‘While never before have the Chinese been so close to, confident in and capable of achieving the goal, separatist forces in the island and external forces have ramped up efforts in seeking independence,’ said Huang.
With this background, the newly released white paper answers questions on why we should speed up the reunification process, why we should ramp up efforts in fighting separatist forces in the island, what kind of reunification we are pursuing and in which way to realize it, and what role the people in Taiwan will play during the process of reunification. All these are questions that Chinese people and the international community have heatedly discussed in recent weeks, Huang said.
The white paper, which was not issued to merely respond to Pelosi's visit, had been in progress for a long time. It was released at such a sensitive time to make accurate and clear statements on China's policies on the Taiwan question when the whole world is closely watching what China will do and whether it will take the island back by force after its impressive military drills around the island ended, the expert said. . .
‘We will work with the greatest sincerity and exert our utmost efforts to achieve peaceful reunification. But we will not renounce the use of force, and we reserve the option of taking all necessary measures. This is to guard against external interference and all separatist activities,’ said the white paper. . .
Zheng said that military force is the last resort and also a necessary method to promote peaceful reunification. When China's economy surpasses the US' and leaves it behind for a while. . .However, as the white paper highlighted external forces' interference on the Taiwan question, analysts on Friday also warned that China should make full preparations for more frequent US exchanges with the separatist forces in Taiwan. . .
However, many experts noted that there is little possibility for the US to have direct military clashes with China. . .‘The US is a paper tiger’. . .the US government will not sacrifice Americans for separatists in Taiwan.”
I previously found for MRC Free Speech America, leading up to Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, that the Global Times or affiliated accounts had issued seven threats (only one of which was removed as of August 2) on Twitter over nearly a year’s time, including a threat to make Taiwan and Australia “cannon fodder,” a threat to “shoot…down” US planes, and a threat against Pelosi saying she was on the “stool of the gallows.”
Global Times is also issuing “Live updates: Tensions rise across Taiwan Straits over Pelosi's trip to island of Taiwan,” including “US keeps provoking tensions in Straits with lawmakers' sneaky visit, to face 'firm countermeasures,’” which said [emphasis added]:
“The People's Liberation Army's military drills encircling the island of Taiwan have sent a loud and clear-cut warning signal, but some US politicians are still ‘playing with fire’ to serve their own political interests, so the international community can see clearly who is the troublemaker that always ignores warnings and keeps worsening regional peace with endless provocations, and sooner or later, they will be ‘burned’ and punished.”
So is the Global Times all bluster? Well, the CCP probably doesn’t want open war right this second. On the other hand, just as feckless Western leaders (particularly Biden) goaded Putin into a premature (though already planned) invasion of Ukraine, the CCP may hurry up its planned invasion of Taiwan. After all, the CCP—the greatest mass murderer of all time—told its people it was entering a war phase with the US in 2019. We may sadly see Taiwan become a disastrous tragedy as great as or greater than Ukraine.
Taiwan (Formosa) remains the Chinese diamond of freedom and prosperity.
It is the gleaming jewel that the communist revolution of Mao and its legion of murderous sycophants failed to crush. And every day it is a dazzling reminder of how successful a free society and capitalist based wealth creating economy are, while an adjacent evil, corrupt, murderous communist regime languish by comparison.
Taiwan Free China ranks #35 world economies GDP per capita while the social credit score ridden control freaks of the CCP in communist China rank 135 per capita GDP, and ...
*Infant mortality rate in China is four times greater than it is in Taiwan.
*Taiwan also has a much lower level of wealth inequality as compared to China, Gini Index inequality measure 30 v CCP 50.
*Corruption in China is widespread, a systemic, normalised manner of commerce, politics and production.
*Unemployment: Taiwan ~ 4%; CCP China ~ 15%
*Routine religious and personal persecution of Christians, Uighurs and many other groups not approved by the CCP, deemed a threat of displacing loyalty.
