Trump Breaks Campaign Promise on Ukraine
Ukraine has been absolutely devastated by the war with Russia, and a whole generation of Ukrainian men was sent to the meat grinder with no progress toward victory. Meanwhile, the American taxpayer is on the hook financially for this slaughter. Donald Trump promised to end it, but his newest statement sounds just like previous Democrat statements which so enraged MAGA.
Trump promised over and over that he would end the war, with comments such as, “That is a war that’s dying to be settled. I will get it settled before I even become president.” Even presuming that was exaggerative (and it was), he seemed to see very clearly last year that this was a losing conflict, and, in any case, that we were spending too much money on it. Yet he has continued to provide expensive weapons at a time when we cannot even afford to fund our own government programs let alone other countries’. From last year, Trump on Zelensky:
This war is not our war. It is not in our interests, and we have spent many hundreds of billions of dollars we did not have as we go ever deeper in debt. That’s all to finance a war that cannot be won against the much more populous and powerful nation of Russia with its ruthless dictator Putin. Zelensky is a grifter who profits off the conflict devastating his country and we have no justification for funding his grift, which has cost so many Ukrainian lives. There is a reason Zelensky’s popularity dropped more than 20 points in Ukraine last year.
Trump saved the terror-sponsoring, America-hating Iranian regime from destruction, he tried to interfere with Israel’s strike on Hamas leaders in terror-funding Qatar, and he legitimized the Syrian jihadi regime currently committing genocide against Druze and Christians. To top it off, he put out this embarrassing tripe:
After getting to know and fully understand the Ukraine/Russia Military and Economic situation and, after seeing the Economic trouble it is causing Russia, I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form. With time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO, the original Borders from where this War started, is very much an option. Why not? Russia has been fighting aimlessly for three and a half years a War that should have taken a Real Military Power less than a week to win. This is not distinguishing Russia. In fact, it is very much making them look like “a paper tiger.” When the people living in Moscow, and all of the Great Cities, Towns, and Districts all throughout Russia, find out what is really going on with this War, the fact that it’s almost impossible for them to get Gasoline through the long lines that are being formed, and all of the other things that are taking place in their War Economy, where most of their money is being spent on fighting Ukraine, which has Great Spirit, and only getting better, Ukraine would be able to take back their Country in its original form and, who knows, maybe even go further than that! Putin and Russia are in BIG Economic trouble, and this is the time for Ukraine to act. In any event, I wish both Countries well. We will continue to supply weapons to NATO for NATO to do what they want with them. Good luck to all!
Trump is stupid to provoke Russia into even greater violence (especially since Putin is allied with our biggest enemies China and Iran) and completely unjustified in continuing the Biden money drain to Ukraine. His international policies need major overhaul.
