“The men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy.” —Rom. 1:27
It’s Pride Month, the month for sexual perverts to go all out in advertising their sin. It seems a fitting time to look at just a few verses from the Bible condemning homosexuality and the notion that there are more than two sexes. LGBTQ people need our prayers and help, not affirmation in their sins.
“Who changed the truth of God into a lie; and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature. And, in like manner, the men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error…Who, having known the justice of God, did not understand that they who do such things, are worthy of death; and not only they that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them.” —Romans 1:25-27, 32
That is one strong condemnation of homosexuality from St. Paul.
“And [God] said: Let us make man to our image and likeness: and let him have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and the beasts, and the whole earth, and every creeping creature that moveth upon the earth. And God created man to his own image: to the image of God he created him: male and female he created them. And God blessed them, saying: Increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and all living creatures that move upon the earth.” —Genesis 1:26-28
There are only two sexes, and that is based in the biology which God gives people. God created each person good, as Genesis says, and to mutilate oneself to attempt to be the opposite sex is wrong.
“Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor liers with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners, shall possess the kingdom of God.” —1 Cor. 6:9-10
As I have explained before, the word being translated here “liers with mankind” in the original Greek, ἀρσενοκοῖται, means literally “men engaged in sexual activity with the same sex.”
St. Paul’s condemnation of homosexuality is perfectly in accord with the Old Testament as well. See below for the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, in which homosexuality is practiced (to “know” someone is often used in the Bible to signify sexual relations, as in Gen. 4:1). First, angels come to warn Lot in the likeness of men, and the Sodomites demand the visitors for sexual relations, rejecting women as alternatives:
“But before they went to bed, the men of the city beset the house both young and old, all the people together. And they called Lot, and said to him: Where are the men that came in to thee at night? bring them out hither that we may know them: Lot went out to them, and shut the door after him, and said: Do not so, I beseech you, my brethren, do not commit this evil. I have two daughters who as yet have not known man: I will bring them out to you, and abuse you them as it shall please you, so that you do no evil to these men, because they are come in under the shadow of my roof. But they said: Get thee back thither...And they pressed very violently upon Lot: and they were even at the point of breaking open the doors.” —Gen. 19:4-9
Again, notice that the Sodomites are not interested in women. For the corruption and sin rampant in Sodom and Gomorrah (homosexuality is clearly a major part), the cities are destroyed:
“[The angels told Lot] For we will destroy this place, because their cry is grown loud before the Lord, who hath sent us to destroy them…And the Lord rained upon Sodom and Gomorrha brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven. And he destroyed these cities, and all the country about, all the inhabitants of the cities, and all things that spring from the earth.” —Gen. 19:13, 24-25
God help LGBTQ Americans, especially children and teens. Depression is so high among LGBTQ youth and adults because they are living an unnatural, sinful lifestyle. As so many institutions and individuals celebrate Pride month, we should turn to prayer, so that America doesn’t suffer the same fate as Sodom and Gomorrah.
Of the "7 deadly sins", "Pride" is #1. (homosexualality notwithstanding)
It's like a sinful two-fer
I’d argue that the practice of homosexuality is the sin. We’re all fallen creatures, descendants of Adam...and victims of the endless mutations that occurred because of the Fall. Some are prone to cancer, diabetes, drunkenness, drug abuse, and a host of other ills and diseases because of our fallen nature, and mutations.
