Southwest Airlines has reportedly realized just how bad for business its Covid vax employee requirements were and has dropped its plan “to put unvaccinated staff on unpaid leave starting in December.” This is just another instance of the truth that you cannot win if you do not fight. Unfortunately, there are workers in other industries who did lose their jobs permanently for standing up to the vaccine mandates—nurses and doctors in some cities, for instance. But Southwest employees would never have gained the moral and medical victory if they had not been willing to take the risk and say “NO” to tyranny.
Winston Churchill once said, “I never worry about action, but only about inaction.” That is as much as to say that if you take the risk, you may very well lose. But if you don’t take the risk, you will never win. What are your liberty and your bodily autonomy worth? The fight is never over, either.
