For 1st Time Since 600s, Christians Are Minority in England and Wales - US Is Close Behind
“For the First Time in 1,400 Years, Christians Are a Minority in England and Wales, and the U.S. Is Not Far Behind.” This should seriously concern us. It was Judeo-Christianity that taught the world to value individuals, to end slavery and sexual perversion, to build a freer and better world. It was Judeo-Christianity that gave us America in the first place—our Declaration of Independence and Constitution are sprung from and dependent on Christianity. Other countries and continents are not as free not only because of their histories or political philosophies, but because of their religions.
But this was all deliberate. The various elitist, authoritarian philosophies—including Marxism and globalism—have always targeted Christianity especially because they know that Christianity is what reminds people that tyranny is morally wicked and every single person matters. Between the globalist takeover of the world and us stands the cross—and the number of those who are faithful to the cross and Christ is dwindling all the time.
“[PJ Media] For the first time in 1,400 years, England and Wales are no longer majority Christian. The UK’s Telegraph reported Tuesday that ‘Christians now account for less than half of England and Wales’ population for the first time in census history, government figures reveal.’ This is an indication of what happens when the Left attains cultural dominance in a society and is likely a harbinger of things to come for the U.S. as well unless there is some massive cultural shift in the next few years. And there could be…
In England and Wales, this was not just a matter of religiosity declining across the board: ‘The census data also shows that every major religion increased over the ten-year period, except for Christianity.’”
One religion I can guarantee you is growing in England and Wales is Islam. There are many very good Muslims, but Islam itself, as a religion, teaches that infidels must be converted, subjugated, or killed, that women are inferior, that god is irrational and violent, that evils such as sexual slavery and child marriage are legitimate, and other dangerous precepts. In other words, it is not a religion conducive to a free and moral society. If you think I’m an Islamophobe, just look at Muslim-controlled countries like Iran and Afghanistan—just ask the Iranian protestors sentenced to death for daring to challenge Sharia law. Just ask the thousands of victims of the Taliban or Boko Haram or “Palestinian” terrorists. Muslims are fleeing to Europe and not the other way around for a reason.
“Right now, however, the trends are unmistakable. ‘The Office for National Statistics (ONS),’ says the Telegraph, ‘results show that 46.2 per cent of the population (27.5 million people) described themselves as ‘Christian’ in 2021. This marks a 13.1 percentage point decrease from 59.3 per cent (33.3 million people) in 2011.’ The trend is the same in the United States, although the numbers are higher: in 2019, according to the Pew Research Center, 65% of Americans identified themselves as Christian, down 10% from 2009. The number of those who said they were ‘nothing in particular’ grew by 4%, to 16% of the total population…
[W]hat happened in England and Wales? What is happening in the United States? The decline is the result of a number of factors. Journalist Daniel Greenfield observed that ‘What you’re seeing is the result of cultural programming that has all but eliminated Judeo-Christian religiosity as a source of values and identity among the young and replaced it with pop culture and politics’…
The very people who were supposed to be the guardians of Judeo-Christian religiosity are in all too many cases the very ones responsible for the decline of its influence. This is a result of the fact that the Left’s Long March Through the Institutions didn’t just take over and destroy our colleges and universities, as well as the entertainment industry and the establishment media; the churches and other religious institutions were targeted as well.”
That is 100% true. The Protestant churches began caving first—after all, if doctrine can be changed after 1500 years, why should it ever stop changing? Then even the Catholic Church began caving to the world, trying to fit itself to the age, most particularly under the current pope, who has even repeatedly attempted to undermine unchangeable doctrine. While individual parishes or outlying denominations might be very conservative, Christians who simply want to state basic Biblical truths and biological facts often find themselves ostracized in their own church communities.
While there are certainly excellent priests and pastors, I think it is fair to say that lay people will have to bring about a renewal of Christianity, just as ordinary citizens, not politicians, will have to save America. Jesus Christ commanded us Christians to “baptize all nations.” It is now vitally imperative that we start with our own.
