Even Illegal Migrant Minors Can Be Criminals
Just because illegal aliens are minors or children, doesn’t mean they won’t become criminals—or that they don’t already have ties to criminal cartels (which is not unusual). Even the teens crossing our open southern border can be dangerous.
Last September, I covered a warning from Border Patrol Council VP Art del Cueto that many teenaged illegals—and even some pre-teens—are working for the criminal cartels. As Del Cueto described such teenagers, “It’s somebody that’s already seen a lot of evil, a lot of danger, and they’ve indoctrinated themselves into that evil and that danger. And that’s what’s coming into our school systems.” Now there’s new evidence on this topic. John Feere, Director of Investigations at the Center for Immigration Studies, tweeted May 31 (emphasis added):
“SCOOP: I can report that THREE of the SIX illegal alien murder/assault suspects identified by the Frederick County, Md. Sheriff's Office entered the U.S. as UNACCOMPANIED ALIEN CHILDREN (UAC), and two of the UAC are MS-13 gang members.
One of the victims in these arrests was a 15-year-old Limber Lopez Funez, a student at Frederick High School. He went missing in February; his body was discovered April 24.
Sources reveal to me the UAC's immigration cases were closed, despite no apparent resolution, because of decisions made by immigration judges or ICE. Biden's ICE appointees are closing THOUSANDS of cases right now; the @HouseGOP could demand details of this lawless scheme.”
Feere’s reporting highlights the human cost of the border crisis. Naturally the Biden administration doesn’t care—it’s deliberately making the crisis worse, even knowingly placing migrant minors with traffickers. But Republicans are far too apt to be all talk and no action on the border too.
“[Feere:] This work by the @FredCoSheriff shows the importance of the 287(g) program, where sheriffs are trained by ICE to identify aliens in their custody. Biden's DHS refuses to take custody of countless criminal aliens ID'd by 287(g) partners, forcing their release back into our towns.
Biden's appointee running ICE's legal division opposes 287(g): …And she's running point on the scheme to quietly cancel thousands of immigration cases. How many criminals are benefiting?
A congressional inquiry on these UAC arrests would provide greater detail. In the meantime, @HomelandGOP should increase resources for ICE in the forthcoming appropriations bill; hiring officers takes time and there's no reason to wait for a new admin to get things rolling.”
If only the Republicans did care enough to take action to help the catastrophic Biden border crisis.
