Border Crisis Fuels Child Labor in US
Biden’s ever worsening border crisis fuels child exploitation, trafficking, and sex slavery, and therefore also illegal child labor.
“At least 10 immigrant children under the legal working age were found working at a Tennessee plant that makes lawn mower parts for power equipment companies including John Deere, Toro, and Yamaha,” MRCTV reported on March 26. “Tuff Torq has been fined $300,000 for employing children as young as 14, and has been ordered to cough up another $1.5 million in assistance for the children themselves.” One child was operating heavy equipment.
‘It’s not clear from the report where the children had immigrated from, or whether they were lawfully in the United States. However, it’s not uncommon for illegal alien children to be employed against federal workplaces laws.’
Thanks to Joe Biden, over 85,000 children went missing in his illegal alien border crisis. The Biden administration ended DNA testing for migrant “families,” a key tool in fighting child trafficking, and ended ICE investigations that could lead to arresting many illegal alien workers. Worst of all, last fall, Muckraker.com uncovered evidence that the U.S. government knowingly facilitates the world’s largest child trafficking ring.
Vetting for migrant child sponsors was loosened and the Biden administration hands the kids over even when it knows the sponsors are traffickers. A federal whistleblower said in 2022 most of the children’s sponsors were illegals themselves, and too many were labor or sex traffickers; the whistleblower was told by federal authorities, “I think you need to understand that we only get sued if we keep kids in care too long. We don’t get sued by traffickers. Are you clear? We don’t get sued by traffickers.” That was all they cared about.
The New York Times highlighted the problem last year:
‘These workers are part of a new economy of exploitation: Migrant children, who have been coming into the United States without their parents in record numbers, are ending up in some of the most punishing jobs in the country, a New York Times investigation found. This shadow work force extends across industries in every state, flouting child labor laws that have been in place for nearly a century. Twelve-year-old roofers in Florida and Tennessee. Underage slaughterhouse workers in Delaware, Mississippi and North Carolina. Children sawing planks of wood on overnight shifts in South Dakota.
Largely from Central America, the children are driven by economic desperation that was worsened by the pandemic. This labor force has been slowly growing for almost a decade, but it has exploded since 2021, while the systems meant to protect children have broken down.‘
Of course, the Times did not lay the blame where it belongs: at the Biden administration’s doorstep. The outlet ignored the timing of 2021–when Biden took office—and even ran multiple ads for Biden’s campaign throughout the piece. But the reality is that the Biden administration officials know perfectly well children are trafficked across the border, and they don’t give a hoot.
Ultimately, Democrats don’t care about brutalizing children for their own political ends. We see it with abortion, damaging “transgender” gear and “treatments,” and the child trafficking at the border. Democrats exploit, abuse, and even kill children to serve their sick ideology.
