Activists Sentenced, Found Guilty…for Trying to Save Babies from Abortion

In Biden’s America, you can go to jail for trying to save babies’ lives.

When BLM and Antifa burned down cities, they were called heroes fighting for justice. Feminists lionize suffragettes who chained themselves to various structures to protest for the right to vote. When pro-abortion radicals attacked and burned pro-life crisis pregnancy centers and churches, the federal government barely pretended to care. But when a group of pro-life activists peacefully protested at an abortion clinic where they had reason to believe babies were not only aborted but killed after birth, the federal government went after them—and the activists now face up to 11 years in jail.

By the way, the FACE Act, which was used to convict the pro-life activists, is also supposed to protect “places of religious worship.” But when pro-abortion activists attacked multiple churches across America after the anti-constitutional Roe v. Wade was overturned, there were no consequences.

“[LifeNews.com, Aug. 30] After a drama-filled trial, five pro-life advocates were found guilty of violating a decade-old federal law that has been used to prevent pro-lifers from exercising their right to free speech.

The five defendants—Lauren Handy, William Goodman, John Hinshaw, Heather Idoni, and Herb Geraghty— were each found guilty ‘for conspiracy against the right to reproductive health services’ and for violating the 1994 Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.

Lila Rose, president of Live Action, a pro-life organization, called the trial a ‘sham’.

‘This trial has been a sham with a biased pro-abortion judge who has made a mockery of our justice system,’ said Rose. ‘This decision will be appealed, & we demand it be overturned.’

Five other defendants will face similar charges in an upcoming September 6 trial. All 10 were charged with crimes related to their actions on October 22, 2020.”

So what is the truth? The truth is that, in a sane America that stuck to the Constitution and its stated right to life, the government should be targeting the bloodthirsty abortion “doctor” the activists were protesting. But in Biden’s America, trying to save babies from death is unforgivable.

The activists had received the remains of 115 aborted babies. After that experience, it’s no wonder they protested at the death-dealing clinic.

The pro-lifers on trial conducted a rescue at the Washington Surgi-Clinic operated by the notorious late-term abortionist Cesare Santangelo who was busted by a LiveAction undercover investigator for admitting that he would not help a child with life-saving efforts if he or she survived a late-term abortion. He emphatically stated that a nearby hospital’s efforts to save the life of a child he was trying to abort was ‘the stupidest thing they could have done.’

Lauren Handy and Herb Geraghty cited those videos as the reason for the rescue and protest at the abortion business because of the concern babies might be left to die. They chained themselves to the entrace of the abortion center in an attempt to stop abortions.

Last March, some of the rescuers currently on trial were given 115 aborted babies by the driver of a medical waste van outside Santangelo’s late-term abortion facility. The babies were well-developed – second and possibly third trimester. Their remains are still in a vault at the D.C. medical examiner’s office.”

So, about two months after that disturbing discovery, in October of 2020, nine pro-life activists “blocked” the abortion facility protesting abortion. PJ Media cited the Thomas More Society, which defended Handy, to say that access to the abortion clinic was never actually impeded during the pro-lifers’ protest. Therefore it would seem that FACE wouldn’t even apply.

In the above video, Santangelo detailed how he ensured that babies born alive during a failed abortion will die, despite federal law guaranteeing medical care to all children born alive, and how no child born alive at his abortion clinic had survived. He was discussing a pregnancy of 24 to 25 weeks, at which point babies born alive can survive with medical care.

LifeNews noted that Clinton-appointed U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly “prohibited” the pro-lifers from making the obvious argument that their actions were protected by the First Amendment, and also refused to allow the video to be used as evidence. Defendants were also not allowed to argue that their actions were taken in defense of a third person—namely, an unborn baby. After all, Democrats don’t acknowledge that unborn babies are persons.

What a sick, evil country America has become.
