Three years ago today, a violent criminal named George Floyd died after being arrested and subdued by a policeman. His death soon became the excuse for radical Democrats to fundraise millions of dollars, create racial division, riot, and burn down cities. People were beaten, or even killed, businesses were destroyed, and Marxists grew rich off pretending to care about justice.
So today is a good day to remember that George Floyd did not in fact die of suffocation as was claimed. He was not killed by police officer Derek Chauvin, even if Chauvin was over-zealous that day. Like most narratives Democrats have weaponized throughout the 200+ years of their existence, it was a lie.
Matt Wallace tweeted May 25, “George Floyd full autopsy released. Says ‘no life threatening injuries identified’ and reveals high levels of multiple additional toxic drugs on top of the Fentanyl that was initially reported.”
A medical examiner concluded in May 2020 that Floyd did not die either of asphyxia or strangulation, as was claimed by radical leftists. Besides the “intoxicants” found in his system, Floyd also had “underlying health conditions,” unfortunately for him.
Floyd had a criminal history, as New York Post reported in June 2020:
“The head of the Minneapolis police union says George Floyd’s ‘violent criminal history’ needs to be remembered and that the protests over his death are the work of a ‘terrorist movement’…Floyd had landed five years behind bars in 2009 for an assault and robbery two years earlier, and before that, had been convicted of charges ranging from theft with a firearm to drugs, the Daily Mail reported.”
Floyd was made a martyr because he was a black man who died after (but not because) a white cop kneeled on his neck for too long. He became the symbol of supposed systemic racism in America. But where was the leftist sympathy for the many black Americans whose neighborhoods or businesses were destroyed by the riots? For the black Americans—including children—who were murdered by rioters?
George Floyd was not a martyr or victim, he was a violent criminal. And the whole narrative built around his death was meant not to achieve more justice, but to undermine and destabilize America.
All true, but since it does not fit the established narrative, it will not matter. The police who were sacrificed on the alter of bad politics (lies, deception, criminality) have had their lives ruined and many others considering LEO careers have turned away as a result.
