ISIS Affiliates Recruiting Child Soldiers in Mozambique
In Islam, jihad or “holy war” against non-Muslims is encouraged by its holy texts and religious leaders. Since fighting and killing non-Muslims is considered holy service to Allah, it is perhaps no surprise that jihadis recruit child soldiers, most recently in Mozambique.
In March, I reported for PJ Media on how 72 children went missing in a jihadi attack in Mozambique, and how relatives feared the children were captured by ISIS affiliates. It seems, sadly, as if ISIS affiliates have indeed been capturing and training kids as militant soldiers. Hundreds or even thousands of Christians have been killed in Mozambique since 2017.
From APA News via JihadWatch:
“Human Rights Watch (HRW) says an ISIS-affiliated armed group in northern Mozambique is recruiting boys as young as 13 to participate in raids against Mozambican authorities and villagers in the region.
HRW’s senior Africa researcher Zenaida said in one of the incidents that occurred on May 10, the group – known locally as Al-Shabab – used child soldiers to raid and loot the town of Macomia in Cabo Delgado province…Notably, two relatives recognised a 13-year-old nephew among the fighters.”
By the way, another area where Islamic jihadis train child soldiers is Gaza, where annual summer camps and grade schools radicalize young kids.
There is no appalling war crime of which Islamic jihadis are not capable.
